Inside-Out Cheeseburgers

Instead of a slice of cheese on top, these burgers are stuffed with it, so the cheese stays ooey, gooey.

Ingredients

> 4 slices American cheese 
> 1 lb 80% lean ground beef
> 4 hamburger rolls

For Garnish:

> Lettuce
> White onion
> Ketchup

Set grill to medium. Fold each slice of cheese into quarters to create 4 short stacks. Divide and shape the beef into 8 equal-size balls.

Working with 2 at a time, flatten and shape each ball into ¼-inch-thick patty. Place a stack of cheese in center of 1 beef patty and top with other beef patty. Pinch edges to seal; then, with hands, plump up sides. Repeat with remaining beef and cheese. Season burgers with salt and pepper.

Place patties on grill. Cover and cook 6 min. per side. Serve on the rolls with garnishes.
