If you’re looking to cut down on store-bought soda, try making your own. It’s easier than you think and results in a fresher, less sugary thirst-quencher.
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the blackberries, sugar, and pomegranate juice. Heat to a simmer on high. Reduce heat to medium and cook 5 min., until berries are tender, stirring occasionally. Let cool.
2. In a blender, purée blackberry mixture until smooth. Strain into small pitcher and stir in lemon juice. Refrigerate until cold.
3. For each drink, pour 2 tbsp blackberry syrup into a tall glass of ice and stir in about 1/2 cup seltzer.
