This colorful and easy hibiscus-infused cocktail is a delicious treat and perfect to make in batches.
2 cups water
4 hibiscus herbal tea bags
1/3 cup fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Ice, as needed
6 oz vodka, divided
Sparkling water, as needed
1 orange, for garnish
In a medium pot, bring the water to a boil on high. Meanwhile, into a small bowl, zest and juice the entire lemon.
Once water is boiling, add the tea bags, ginger, cinnamon sticks, and sugar, plus lemon zest and juice. Stir until sugar is dissolved and remove from heat. Let steep for at least 5 min., or until cooled. Strain mixture through a sieve into an airtight container and refrigerate until chilled.
To serve, add ice to 4 glasses. Divide hibiscus mixture among glasses. Add 1½ oz vodka to each glass. Top with the sparkling water and garnish with the orange slices.
