4 Reasons to Love Green Tea, According to a Nutritionist

Lipton® Green Tea has the power to help support your heart and brighten your day with three new flavors.

Your body needs a variety of nutrients every day to maintain good health like vitamins, minerals, and ones you may not have heard of like flavonoids. This group of naturally occurring plant components (commonly known as bioactives) are found in fruits, veggies, and tea. Research shows flavonoids are associated with health benefits like supporting heart health.

The good news is that if you’re eating a nutritious diet, you’re probably getting flavonoids but likely not enough since scientists recommend a daily amount between 400-600mg. That’s where Unsweetened Lipton® Honey Ginger, Lemon, and Peach Green Tea comes in – one serving has 75mg of flavonoids. That’s more than 7x the amount in 1 cup of pomegranate juice. Drink 2 cups and you’re on your way to meeting this recommendation! Pro tip: whether you’re making hot or cold tea, steep green tea bags for 4 minutes to get the benefit of flavonoids and the best flavor.

Heart-friendly flavonoids are incredible but there’s even more to love about green tea. In addition to flavonoids, brewed green tea also contributes to hydration because it’s mostly water. And if you’re worried about caffeine, rest at ease because a cup of Lipton® Green Tea has about one-third of the caffeine in a typical cup of coffee.

It’s one thing if something is good for you and next level if it also tastes good. Lipton® has set the bar high with new, perfectly flavored green teas – Honey Ginger, Lemon, and Peach. The Honey Ginger Green Tea in this Green Tea Cooler is the perfect complement to the other ingredients. As summer winds down, but temperatures are still high, it’s the perfect way to do something good for your body after a busy, back-to-routine week.

Let’s recap all the goodness in a cup of brewed Lipton® Green Tea;

  1. Provides flavonoids for heart health
  2. Contributes to hydration
  3. Contains less caffeine than a cup of coffee
  4. Has all the flavor you’re craving with zero grams of added sugars

Hot or cold, aim for 2 cups of brewed green tea every day for an easy and affordable way to take care of you.
