Ingredients

> 1 (15 oz) pkg sliced bakery pound cake
> 2 (16 oz) cans vanilla frosting, divided
> Yellow food coloring, as needed
> Red sanding sugar

Steps

1
Crumble the cake into a large bowl. Add half of a can of vanilla frosting and stir until combined. Using hands, shape cake into egg-shaped ovals. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze 10 min.
2
Meanwhile, add the yellow food coloring to remaining half can of vanilla frosting, mixing and adding coloring until desired shade. Transfer to a pastry bag with star tip. Set aside.
3
To a microwave-safe bowl, add remaining can of frosting. Microwave 1–2 min. in 30-sec. intervals, until completely melted. Using a fork, dip cake eggs into frosting, tapping off the excess. Place back on baking sheet. Refrigerate 5–10 min., until set.
4
Pipe small amount of yellow frosting onto wider side of the cake eggs, to resemble the yolks of deviled eggs. Sprinkle yellow frosting with sanding sugar to resemble paprika.

Tips

Place cake pops in a deviled egg tray to make the trick even more convincing. More cake pops may be needed to pull this off.
