Get Creative with These 5 No-Churn Ice Cream Flavor Ideas

Create your own DIY ice cream treat with these expert tips—no churning required

Nothing screams summer like a cold, creamy scoop of ice cream on a sweltering day. If making the iconic frozen dessert from scratch sounds intimidating, we have great news for you: With just three ingredients and a loaf pan, you can whip up (literally!) a delicious no-churn DIY ice cream that’s perfect for cooling off—no special equipment or technique required.   

Making no-churn ice cream at home is a nearly foolproof process. Start by placing a metal loaf pan in the freezer to chill. Beat cold heavy whipping cream in a large bowl until stiff peaks form. Then, in a separate bowl, mix a can of sweetened condensed milk with vanilla and a pinch of salt. Fold in some of the whipped cream to lighten, then add in the rest until just combined. Transfer the mixture to the chilled pan, and voilà — all that’s left to do is wait until the mixture freezes solid to a beautifully scoopable consistency. We recommend freezing the pan overnight if you can wait that long.
