Grilled Caprese Burgers

In this fun Italian spin on a classic, the burgers are brushed with balsamic glaze, topped with mozzarella, then sandwiched with tomato slices and basil leaves with a schmear of pesto mayo. The most delicious burger and salad mash-up ever!

Ingredients

> 1 (1 1/4 lb) pkg 90% lean ground beef patties (4 count)
> 1/4 cup mayonnaise
> 2 tbsp prepared basil pesto
> 2 tbsp balsamic glaze
> 1/2 (8 oz) pkg fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into 4 even slices
> 4 hamburger buns, split
> 1 large tomato, sliced
> 1 cup fresh basil leaves

Set grill to medium-high and grease the grill grates. Season the beef patties with salt and pepper on both sides. Add patties to grill and cook 3–4 min. per side, until desired doneness. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and pesto. Set aside.

During the last minute of grilling, brush both sides of burgers with the balsamic glaze. Top burgers with the mozzarella slices and let melt slightly. Place the buns, cut-sides down, on grill and toast 1–2 min., until just golden brown.

Remove buns from grill. Add burgers with cheese to bottom buns and top with the tomato slices and basil leaves. Spread pesto mayo on top buns and place on top of burgers. Serve immediately.
