Ingredients
>
Cooking spray
>
1/3 cup baking soda
>
1 (16 oz) ball refrigerated pizza dough, at room temperature
>
8 turkey or beef hot dogs
>
1 large egg, beaten
>
Kosher salt, as needed
>
1/4 cup favorite mustard
>
Ketchup (optional)
Steps
1
Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment and spray parchment with the cooking spray. Fill a large pot three-fourths with water. Add the baking soda and bring to a boil on high.
2
Meanwhile, place the dough on a lightly floured surface and roll into a 9x12-inch rectangle. Cut dough along short side into 8 equal strips. Wrap dough strips around the hot dogs and pinch dough onto itself to stick.
3
Once water is boiling, gently drop 4 hot dogs into boiling water and cook 1 min., turning gently as they cook. Using a slotted spoon, transfer hot dogs to prepared baking sheet, spacing 1 inch apart. Repeat with remaining hot dogs.
4
Brush the beaten egg over dough and sprinkle with salt. Bake 10–15 min., until dough is a deep brown. Serve with the mustard or ketchup.
