Cut florets off broccoli stem into bite-sized florets. In a 12-inch skillet, heat the oil on medium-high. Add broccoli and season with salt and pepper. Cook 3–4 min., stirring occasionally. Add ¼ cup water and continue to cook 3–4 min., until broccoli is tender.
Tips
Flavor combinations:
SWEET AND SPICY: Add ½ (10 oz) bag shredded carrots to pan with broccoli. After cooking, add ¼ cup Thai sweet chili sauce and 1 tbsp soy sauce. Toss to coat.
ALMONDINE: After sautéing, add ½ cup toasted sliced almonds, the zest of 1 lemon, and 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice.
TRIPLE PEPPER: After sautéing, add 1 (16 oz) bag frozen mixed pepper strips, thawed, and 1 tbsp red wine vinegar. Sauté 2 min., until peppers are softened.
