Ingredients
>
Cooking spray
>
1 small onion
>
1 tbsp olive oil
>
1 lb 93% lean ground beef
>
1/2 (8 oz) pkg reduced-fat cream cheese, room temperature
>
6 slices American cheese, torn into pieces
>
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
>
1/4 cup ketchup
>
1/4 cup mayonnaise
>
3 tbsp sweet pickle relish
>
6 hamburger buns
>
2 cups shredded lettuce
>
1 large tomato, diced
>
1/2 cup dill or bread and butter pickle chips (optional)
Steps
1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat an 8x8-inch baking dish with the cooking spray. Using a box grater, coarsely grate the onion into a large bowl. In a 12-inch skillet, heat the oil on medium-high. Add the beef and grated onion and season with salt and pepper. Cook 6–8 min., until browned and cooked through, breaking up meat with a spatula as needed and stirring frequently. Drain excess grease and transfer beef mixture to same large bowl.
2
Add the cream cheese, American cheese, ¼ cup Cheddar cheese, ketchup, mayonnaise, and pickle relish. Mix until well combined. Spread mixture into prepared baking dish in even layer. Sprinkle remaining ½ cup Cheddar cheese over beef mixture. Bake 15–20 min., until dip is bubbly and heated through.
3
Meanwhile, split each hamburger bun and slice each half into 4 strips. Arrange bun strips on a large parchment-lined baking sheet. Lightly coat with cooking spray. Bake 10–12 min., until toasted, flipping halfway through. Remove dip from oven and top with the lettuce, tomato, and pickle chips (if using). Serve with hamburger bun crostini.
