Ingredients
>
2 cups low-fat buttermilk
>
2 tbsp paprika, divided
>
2 tbsp garlic powder divided
>
8 chicken drumsticks
>
2 cups all purpose flour
>
Cooking spray
Steps
1
To a large resealable bag, add the buttermilk, 1 tbsp paprika, and 1 tbsp garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper. Shake and massage to combine. Add the drumsticks to buttermilk mixture and massage to coat thoroughly. Refrigerate chicken to marinate at least 1 hour and up to 24 hours.
2
Set a wire rack in a rimmed baking sheet. In a large bowl, combine the flour, remaining 1 tbsp paprika and 1 tbsp garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper.
3
Remove drumsticks from buttermilk mixture and shake off excess. Dredge drumsticks well in flour mixture. Transfer coated drumsticks to wire rack and let rest 5 min.
4
Preheat air fryer to 350°F. Coat the air fryer basket with the cooking spray. Arrange drumsticks in a single layer. Coat chicken well with cooking spray. Cook 23–25 min., flipping halfway through and coating chicken again with cooking spray, until internal temperature reads 165°F on an instant-read thermometer and coating is brown and crispy.
Tips
If needed, coat and fry the drumsticks in batches to avoid overcrowding your air fryer.
