Bananas Foster Sundaes

The New Orleans classic of bananas Foster gets bumped up a notch as a sundae for an easy, fast dessert.

Ingredients

> 4 tbsp (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
> 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
> 4 medium bananas, peeled
> 1 tsp ground cinnamon
> 1 tsp vanilla extract
> 3 tbsp rum (optional)

To Serve:

> Vanilla ice cream
> Caramel sauce

In a 12-inch nonstick skillet, melt the butter on medium. Add the sugar and cook 1–2 min., until dissolved, stirring occasionally.

Slice the bananas in half lengthwise. Add bananas to the skillet and cook 2 min. per side, until lightly browned. Add the cinnamon, vanilla, and rum, if using. Season lightly with salt. Cook until mixture begins to bubble. Remove from heat.

To serve, top with the ice cream and drizzle with the caramel sauce.
