Ingredients
>
1 (16 oz) Jimmy Dean Regular Sausage Roll
>
1/3 cup dried cranberries, minced
>
1 cup fontina cheese, 1/2-inch cubed
>
1 cup mayonnaise
>
1 tbsp rosemary, minced
>
1 tsp lemon zest
>
1 tsp lemon juice
>
1/4 tsp kosher salt
Steps
1
Preheat oven to 400F.
2
To prepare sausage balls, in a medium bowl combine one sausage roll with the dried cranberries. Fold ingredients together until cranberries are evenly distributed throughout sausage. Set this mixture aside.
3
Cut fontina cheese into half-inch cubes.
4
To form the sausage balls: Take 1 tablespoon of the sausage mixture and form it into a ball around 1 cube of cheese, sealing the cheese in the center of the sausage. Arrange the sausage balls on a parchment lined sheet pan.
5
Place in a 400F oven for 10-12 minutes, or until cheese first begins to run out of the sausage balls.
6
Hold hot until ready to serve.
7
To prepare sauce, fold all ingredients together in a medium bowl. Store covered in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
8
Arrange Jimmy Dean Signature Sausage Balls on a serving platter and serve with a side of rosemary citrus aioli. For a quick alternative dipping sauce, you can serve these sausage balls with any garlic or herb flavored mayonnaise you might find in the condiment aisle at the grocery store.
