Ingredients

1 tbsp grapeseed oil

3 slices bacon, cut into 2-inch cubes

1 large onion, medium diced
>
3 cloves garlic
>
1 lb fresh collard greens, cut into 2-inch pieces

3 cups chicken broth
>
3 tbsp sugar
>
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
>
pepper, to taste
Steps

In a large pot over medium heat, add grapeseed oil and bacon, and allow to render. Remove bacon from the pan.

Add onion and garlic, and allow to sweat about 5 minutes.

Add collard greens and cook for approximately 5 more minutes, making sure to stir.

Add chicken broth and cook over medium heat for 45 minutes.

Finish with sugar, vinegar and pepper to taste.
