Ingredients

> 3 tbsp paprika
> 2 tbsp packed brown sugar
> 1 tbsp ground cumin
> 1 tbsp kosher salt
> 1 (4 lbs) pkg beef brisket
> 1 cup barbecue sauce

Steps

1
Mix together paprika, brown sugar, cumin, and kosher salt in a small bowl. Rub the beef brisket on both sides with this mixture. Set in the bowl of a 6–7 quart slow cooker and top with barbecue sauce and 1 cup water.
2
Set slow cooker to low heat and cook for 5 hours or until fork tender. Carefully remove the brisket and transfer to a cutting board. (For best results, allow 10 min. to rest.) Pour liquid from the slow cooker into a large bowl. Allow sauce to cool slightly and skim fat from the top.
3
Set grill to high. Transfer brisket to grill and cook 4–5 min. per side. Slice the brisket against the grain on a diagonal. Serve with the cooking liquid.
