Ingredients

3 oranges, plus 1 for garnish

1 (2-inch) piece ginger

1 gallon apple cider

4 cinnamon sticks

1 tbsp whole cloves

4 whole star anise

Halve 3 oranges. Wash, dry, and thinly slice the ginger. Place the halved oranges, ginger, cider, cinnamon, cloves, and star anise in a 7-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 2 hours. Meanwhile, cut the remaining orange into thin slices. Ladle cider into glasses and garnish with sliced orange.
