1 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour

1 3/4 sticks butter

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 apples

8 dates

2 cups mixed nuts

6 tbsp apricot jam

Preheat the oven to 325°F.

Place the flour, butter and sugar in a food processor and pulse until it forms a ball.

Grease the tart pans and press the dough evenly along the bottom and sides of each one.

Bake for about 10 min. and let cool.

Meanwhile peel, core and dice the apples. Finely chop the dates.

Coarsely chop the nuts and mix with the dates, apple and apricot jam.

Divide the mixture among the pans and bake for 15 min. or until golden brown.

Allow the pies to cool 30 min.
