3 lbs apples (about 6 apples)

1/2 (12 oz) bag fresh cranberries or 1 1/2 cups frozen cranberries, thawed

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp grated nutmeg

Peel, core, and quarter the apples. To a 6-qt Instant Pot®, add the cranberries, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and apples. Seal lid and set to high pressure. Cook 1½ hours. Let natural release for 20 min. Quick release remaining pressure.

Use an immersion blender or a standard blender to purée apple butter until smooth. Set Instant Pot® to sauté and cook 5–10 min., stirring regularly, until desired consistency is reached. Allow to cool completely and transfer to jars. Refrigerate for up to 7 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
