Peaches with Pecan Shortbreads

Serve these shortbread cookies with peaches for dessert at your next holiday party. Classic pecan shortbread made with cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg gets a fresh makeover by combining with sliced peaches for a light, fruity and crisp dessert.

Ingredients

> 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
> 2 tbsp finely chopped pecans
> 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
> 1/4 tsp salt
> 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
> dash of nutmeg
> 1 stick butter softened
> 2 cups sliced fresh peaches

Preheat oven to 425F.

In a small bowl, combine flour, pecans, sugar, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir with a fork to combine evenly.

Add softened butter. Stir with fork just until a dough forms. Form dough into a ball with hands and flatten.

Place dough between 2 sheets of waxed paper and roll to 1/8-inch thick. Use decorative cutters to make 12 cookies. Transfer to an ungreased baking sheet.

Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Divide peaches among 4 serving bowls and garnish each with one cookie.

Store remanining cookies in a tightly closed container for up to one week.
