Ingredients

> 1 lb lean ground beef
> 1/2 cup jarred salsa verde, divided
> 1 tbsp olive oil
> 4 seeded hamburger buns
> 4 slices pepperjack cheese
> 1 medium avocado, peeled and pitted
> 1/2 (24 oz) pkg iceberg garden salad mix
> 2 cups yellow tortilla chips

Steps

1
In a large bowl, combine beef and ¼ cup salsa verde. Season with salt and pepper. Shape beef mixture into 4 burger patties.
2
Grease grill or grill pan and heat to medium. Brush cut sides of buns with oil. Place bread on grill and heat until toasted, 1 to 2 minutes per side.
3
Place burgers on grill or grill pan and cook until desired doneness, about 3 to 4 minutes per side. During last minute of cooking, place 1 slice cheese on each burger and cover to melt.
4
In a small bowl, mash avocado until desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper. Spread 1 tablespoon mashed avocado on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top avocado with salad mix. Top salad mix with cooked burgers. Finish each burger with 1 tablespoon salsa verde and top with bun. Serve immediately with tortilla chips.
