> 6 slices thick-cut bacon, cut into 1/4-inch strips (about 1/2 lb)
> 1 tbsp sambal oelek (Asian chili-garlic paste)
> 1 jar (24 oz) Bertolli ® Organic Tomato & Basil Sauce
> 1/2 cup grated pecorino Romano cheese

Steps

1
Cook pasta in salted water 1 min. less than directed on package; drain.
2
Meanwhile, cook and stir bacon in large skillet on medium-high heat 8 min. or until crisp; drain and return to pan.
3
Add sambal, marinara and cooked pasta to skillet with bacon. Toss constantly over medium heat 1-2 min. or until pasta is heated through and well coated with sauce. Remove pan from heat; stir in cheese.

Comments

Traditional pasta all’Amatriciana, named for the Italian city of Amatrice, is made with guanciale (cured pork jowl), onion, pecorino cheese, fresh chili peppers and bucatini pasta.

Tips

Cook 1 small chopped red onion with the bacon until caramelized for an extra flavorful dish.
