Best Recipes

When summer rolls around, we get very excited to hit the grill and eat all of the peak-season produce. And while we have our go-to family favorites, it’s always fun to try out something new. After all, the days are longer, and we’re hosting (and attending) food-focused events in the backyard all season long. So, in honor of ten years of Savory Magazine, we took a look back at some of our favorite summer dishes across our digital platforms to put together the best recipes you should make this summer. We hand-picked 10 recipes that our SavoryOnline audience has loved across our website, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook pages to get you the best of the best this season. And if you aren’t following us yet, what are you waiting for?

Berry Poke Cake

This retro cake was a favorite recipe among our Facebook and YouTube followers last summer, with all exclaiming how delightful the summer treat was. Simply poke holes throughout a baked boxed-mix cake and pour in strawberry gelatin for a fruity twist. Finish it off with a decadent whipped cream topping, which incorporates a pudding mix to help stabilize it, and a sprinkle of seasonal berries.

For other red, white, and blue favorites, try the American Flag Berries and Cream Icebox Cake, Red, White, and Blue Swirled Cheesecake Bars, and the Berry Phyllo Cups.

Garnish with orange, lime, and maraschino cherries, and you’ll be in summer bliss. If you’re looking for more summertime sips (and maybe something special for the adults), followers also love this Big-Batch Mint Julep to serve a crowd.
