Ingredients

1/2 lb white button mushroom

2 tbsp olive oil, divided

1 lb 99% lean ground turkey

1/2 tsp salt

4 whole wheat hamburger rolls or sandwich thins

Clean the mushrooms with a soft cloth or rinse them quickly and pat try. Finely dice the mushrooms. If using a food processor, pulse 3-4 times, until they are roughly the consistency of the ground turkey.

Warm 1 tablespoon olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and sauté about 5 minutes, until they turn deep brown.

Remove mushrooms from heat and let cool at least 5 minutes. In a medium sized mixing bowl, mix the ground turkey and mushrooms until well combined. Season with salt. Form into 4 even patties.

Warm 1 tablespoon olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook patties until they reach an internal temperature of 165°, about 7 minutes a side.

Serve on a whole wheat bun with desired toppings.
