Fontina, Ham, and Sun-Dried Tomato Grilled Sandwiches

We’re big fans of Fontina—a creamy Italian cheese that’s just perfect for melting—but mayo is the real secret weapon here, as it ensures crisp, golden sandwiches without the need to add oil.

Ingredients

> ⅓ cup mayonnaise
> 8 slices multigrain bread
> ½ cup sundried tomato pesto
> 3 oz sliced Fontina cheese
> 4 oz sliced  ham

Spread mayonnaise on the bread and turn mayo-sides down. Spread other sides of bread with the sun-dried tomato pesto. Layer the cheese and ham on top of pesto on four of the slices and top with the remaining bread slices, mayo-sides up.

In a hot skillet or grill pan, cook 2 sandwiches on medium for about 8 min., flipping halfway through, or until golden brown and cheese is melted. Repeat with remaining 2 sandwiches and serve.
