In a 12-inch skillet, heat the oil on medium. Add the onion. Season with salt. Cook 6–8 min., until almost tender, stirring often.

Add the ketchup, garlic powder, cinnamon, cayenne, and 3 tbsp water. Cook 3–4 min., until onions are very soft, stirring often.
