Ingredients

> 4 mozzarella string cheese sticks
> 2 (13.8 oz) cans refrigerated pizza crust dough
> 1/2 (12 oz) pkg cocktail smoked sausage links
> 10 black olives (optional)
> 1 large egg
> Marinara sauce, warmed, to serve

Steps

1
Preheat oven to 400°F and line 2 baking sheets with parchment. Unwrap the string cheese and cut each stick into 3 pieces.
2
Unroll 1 can of the pizza dough and roll into an 8x11-inch rectangle. Cut into 3x3-inch squares. In batches, place 1 piece of cheese on top of dough squares and fold dough over just the cheese to close. Press firmly at seams (leaving the sides open). Using kitchen shears, cut 4 legs on each side for a spider and roll each leg.
3
Roll out remaining dough to another 8x11-inch rectangle. Cut into 3x3-inch squares and repeat process with smoked sausage links, adding them to dough squares, folding, and cutting legs on each side to make a spider.
4
Place all rolls on prepared baking sheets. If desired, thinly slice the olives and add as “eyes” for the spiders. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and 1 tbsp water. Brush dough with egg mixture. Bake 20 min., until golden brown and cooked through. Serve with warmed marinara sauce for dipping.
