Sweet Potato Casserole

Take your dish up a notch by replacing the traditional marshmallow topping with a crunchy brown sugar and pecan combo. This recipe saves calories by substituting equal parts cooking oil with Mott's® applesauce.

Ingredients

> 3/4 cup Mott's ® Applesauce Cinnamon
> 1 1/2 cups sweet potatoes, cooked and mashed
> 1 large egg, lightly beaten
> 1/4 light brown sugar
> 1/4 cup whole milk

For the topping;

> 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
> 2 tbsp light brown sugar
> 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
> 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Steps

Preheat oven to 350˚F. Place rack in center of oven.

Butter a 1.5- or 2-quart casserole dish and set aside.

Combine sweet potatoes, egg, brown sugar, milk, and applesauce together in a medium bowl. Pour into prepared casserole dish.

For topping, combine melted butter, brown sugar, flour, and pecans.

Sprinkle over sweet potato filling.

Bake 30 minutes or until topping has browned.
